How many times have they stopped the music at the Grammy’s and allowed the acceptance speech to go on?

Nice job Kanye……..earlier I was moved by your singing “Mama” during the Grammy’s and then you go and win Best Rap Album. When they tried to cut your speech off with music you handled it tactfully and showed your dignity. I can’t believe they actually stopped it!

As soon as I heard the music start to play all I could think was “dam now the grammys are going to be on his hate list”, because it seems he has a problem with every award show, they always seem to disrespect him in some way..or at least that is what he believed. I’m glad he kept talking and asked them to stop the music, I mean come on he is trying to give thanks to his departed mom.

How do you feel about athletes and entertainers thanking God in their acceptance/victory speeches?

First, let me be clear: I DO believe in God and I’m not knocking Him. And I do believe that He blesses us with success in our endeavors if we trust in him and work hard. But does He care who wins the Super Bowl, or World Series MVP, or a Grammy award?
Batgirl2good, this isn’t about the First Amendment. No one is talking about restricting anything; I know they have the right to thank anyone they want to thank. I’m just asking for people’s opinions on the practice.
Beer drinking lemur, if God were a Bucs fan I really doubt they would’ve spent all those years as the most pathetic team in the NFL… not to mention those hideous orange uniforms that they wore until circa 1997.

Personally, I don’t think God is a big Colts fan, or watches ESPN to get the latest scores for the America’s Cup.

I do think, however, that as Christians, it is our obligation to recognize that without God we are nothing. God gives us the abilities we have, and He is worthy to be praised for our accomplishments.

He gets the glory…end of story! (hey, I made a rhyme!)

What do you think of kanye’s grammy preformance?

Dude is so confident he comes off as arrogant. Maybee he is? He did pretty much change hip-hop as we know it. I also think it was pretty disrespectful to play the music during his speech. That had to have been cause they didnt want him to talk at all.

I loved “It would be in good taste to turn the music off now”
They cut people off all the time when they run long on their acceptance speeches; it was good to see that they at least had the decency to turn it off so that he could say what he had to say about his mom.

He is arrogant. But when you’re that good, you can be. I just wish he would stop releasing his CDs the same year as Common so that he could win more than one grammy!
