The first live telecast of Grammy awards was shown in 1971. The 51st Grammy Awards was held on Sunday, February 8. The 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on January 31, 2010, and will be held at Los Angeles’ Staples Centre.

For the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards the recording academy is restructuring certain fields and categories. This will result in a total of 109 awards being handed out at the Grammy Awards.

Alison Krauss is the biggest winner among female artists with 26 awards.

* Most Grammy Awards – Musical Group
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra holds the record for any musical group with 60 wins.
