The Grammy Awards are one of the prestigious musical awards in the world of music industry. The Grammy awards are originally called the Gramophone Awards. It is also popular as Grammys. The Grammy awards are presented annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States for outstanding achievements in the music industry. The awards ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and some of the awards of more popular interest are presented in a widely-viewed televised ceremony.

Golden Globe Award – The World Best Award for Entertainments

The awards were established in 1958. The first Grammy Award telecast took place on the night of November 29, 1959, as an episode of the NBC anthology series Sunday Showcase. The first live telecast of Grammy awards was shown in 1971. The 51st Grammy Awards was held on Sunday, February 8. The 52nd Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on January 31, 2010, and will be held at Los Angeles’ Staples Centre.

For the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards the recording academy is restructuring certain fields and categories. This will result in a total of 109 awards being handed out at the Grammy Awards.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra holds the record for any musical group with 60 wins.
